1st retightening

Wow time flies it  will be 7 weeks on Tuesday 19 July since I have had my sisterlocks installed and on Thursday 14 July I had my first retightening yippee.  I must say it needed it well I thought so anyway I had a few at the front that were just completely undone and a few in the middle and to me it look untidy.  But saying that it must be just me who doesn't like a hair out of place as everyone else said it looked good.

The retightening took 3 hours but why didn't someone warn me - it HOT yes I was wiggling in my seat trying not to disturb my consultant thinking it must me my fault cos if I did keep my hand outa my head then there wouldn't have been so much repair work to do.

Liz made me laugh all the things you with you hand in your hair she just knows "wear a bandana when you go to the a gym a cotton one and when you take if off and it is all wet don't run you hand through it saying "its wet""  I had to laugh that is exactly what I do and I must admit I have only worn my bandana once.

I was a bit disappointed though as I thought now I can finally wash my hair but now wait until the next time I was instructed - your hair is soft and the end curly if you wash it it will all unravel.  Ohhhhhhhh I so wanted to have that water running through my hair washing away weeks of sweat yuk...but dirt not gonna kill me and if I remember rightly dem weave heads never got washed for weeks...so a few more weeks aint gonna kill me and plus I don't want to ruin what lovely Liz has done.

Well I feel alive again the hair is look neat and tidy and it is getting thicker growing outwards though not downwards but still a big difference from when I first did it.  Here are some pictures for you to see before and after.....enjoy.

Remember this day of installation...

Before retightening and

below after retightening...

One day dem pepper grains will be long enough to lock lol...

You know what I like the most the colour.  I dyed it before I had my sisterlocks installed and I thought it didn't show but since I have had my sisterlocks installed the colour really shows up.

Bye for now....

Sisters Who Lock Annual Event June 2011

Did I tell you about the Sisterlock Event?  No..well you missed one special event.  Anyone who knows me knows I have lots of hobbies but out all of them "hair" is my favourite.  I am known as work as Carol with the different hair dos.  The same hairdo for more than a month is a no no for me.  So can you imagine the excitement I felt of being in a room full of people with something in common with me.  This was a new venture to me I had only had my sisterlocks nearly 4 weeks - not months as Liz asked and here I was in a room full of beautiful women with hair or all colours, lengths and sizes wow!!!

This was one time when nobody cared about you looking in their head - well if they did they didn't say.  I couldn't help staring in amazement at these beautiful proud women.  Mine are only short and not flowing like everyone elses but you know what everyone still loved them.    It will grow fast they said as I moan about it being short. I love it short really...

Liz my lovely consultant who spent 12 hours installing my sisterlocks introduced me to everyone as the baby I hope when the next event (hopefully soon) comes I will be one of the oldies!!!

You know what made this night even more special?  My lovely sisterlocks friend Nai and Jan.  If it wasn't for Nai I wouldn't of known about sisterlocks.  That's another thing that amazes me the fact that I had never heard of sisterlocks WHAT Miss look up everything on the internet queen missed something.  Yes I can't believe it and still amazed at something that is so popular missed me!!!  But a big THANK YOU to Nai.

Anyway it was an amazing event and night and can't wait for the next one.

4 weeks

Well it is now 4 weeks well nearly 5 weeks since I have had my sisterlocks installed and I can't wait to get i retightened.  It hasn't actually been too bad but there is a lot of new growth and a few unravelled locks.  Not surprising really as I have been sweating buckets at the gym so the front has suffered.

So what has it been like.  Well I have had more compliments than I usually get even when I think it is looking rough someone always says how nice it is.  Hey I went to a sisterlocks event and even saw a cousin of mine there small world - the room was full of ladies with beautiful hair amazing.  It was such a lovely night spent with my lovely "one friend" (as my son says) Nai.  Everyone looked so beautiful.  I can't wait until mine grows so I can start doing things with it.

I have braided it a bit some nights just to make it a bit fresher - it comes out OK you know all wringly and cute.   I have put no hair oil in my hair at all and guess what no problems at all no dry scalp and it doesn't itch that much.

I am going to download a few pictures to show the changes.

I have my computer back now so get ready for more updates.

Better go now as it is a Sunday evening and I need to have some relaxation time.....
